Ranked Choice Voting, Question 5 on the November ballot, is the change we need to restore majority rule and to give voters more voice in elections and in our democracy.

If the turmoil in Augusta has taught us anything, it’s that we need to change the way we elect our leaders, especially when politicians can get elected with less than 40% of the vote.

We need a system that works – where candidates with the best ideas, not the biggest bank accounts, have a fighting chance. Ranked Choice Voting eliminates “the spoiler effect” and the need for “strategic voting” in campaigns, thus leveling the playing field and ensuring that candidates who are opposed by a majority of voters can never win.

We have a responsibility to vote to make our state and our country a better place for our children and grandchildren. Ranked Choice Voting is a better system that gives you the freedom to vote for the candidate you like best without worrying that you will help to elect the candidate you like least or feeling like your vote is “wasted.”
