As you drive home, you probably notice congregations of signs telling you to vote yes or no on all the questions on your ballot. Don’t you just wish someone would take the time to explain them to you with lovable characters from your childhood?

Luckily, we have videos like this.

Question 5 deals with ranked choice voting, and it will appear on ballots as follows:

Do you want to allow voters to rank their choices of candidates in elections for U.S. Senate, Congress, Governor, State Senate, and State Representative, and to have ballots counted at the state level in multiple rounds in which last-place candidates are eliminated until a candidate wins by majority?

Last week, the Bangor Daily News published an editorial on Question 5. We didn’t believe it would deliver the promises it makes, but that’s just our opinion, feel free to have your own.

Reddit user tauovatumuffin, a student at the Maine Virtual Academy, commanded some attention on r/Maine today after he explained ranked choice voting using plush toys of Pokemon to represent candidates.
