PORTLAND (WGME) -- People gathered at 20 breweries across the state Wednesday to rank their favorite craft beers, and they learned a little something along the way.
It's all part of the Committee for Ranked Choice's "beer elections."
The committee wants to educate people on Question 5, which will appear on Maine's statewide November ballot.
Wednesday, people ranked their favorite craft beers, to demonstrate how ranked choice voting worked.
If approved, Question 5 would allow voters to rank candidates for public office.
In a nutshell, if your first choice candidate can't win, your vote is instantly counted for your second choice, and so on, until a winner gets at least 50 percent of the vote.
